One of the hardest things in life one has to do is put a beloved pet to sleep.

Last night I had to make a very difficult decision. Let my cat suffer for another two days to await test results that may or may not confirm my vet's suspicions that what he has is treatable (which would cost one thousand + dollars on top of what I'd already spent) just to keep him alive or to put him out of his suffering. I opted for the latter and put him to sleep. My heart broke last night.

The vets had run many blood tests and were telling me it could be this or it could be that....in the end I had to go with my gut instincts that they really didn't know and I figured he wasn't going to make it despite my wanting him to be okay.

My heart is saying no more cats for this girl - I have two more cats (one is Naegheli's twin sister at 6 years old and one is 13 years old) and I will have to go through this two more times. Ugh!

Ohhhh the woeeeees of being a cat lover. :-(

Welcome to another edition of "In The Author's Loft".

Recently Erotic Romance Author EMERY LARUE and I had a wonderful chat while munching on chocolate drizzled danishes and steaming peppermint tea as we sat cross legged in front of my cozy electric fireplace at my still to be finished writing studio.

Emery is the founder of the review site “Sensual Reads” and she also writes a blend of erotic romances from sultry to seductive, from paranormal to contemporary as well as suspense. Jan: Welcome to my humble writing abode, Emery. I must tell you that while visiting your site I couldn’t help but notice you’ve been a busy girl with several releases this year. Can you tell us a bit about each one of them?

Emery: The Vamptations Anthology came out earlier this year and my story is titled 'Love and Redemption'. A paranormal romance with two love stories. Vampire brother's, Draven & Logan, find love with Timber & Sahara. This anthology is among my favorites. I love the paranormal.

Crash and Burn also released in April. This is my first book with Whispers Publishing. It is a contemporary about a business man and an erotic romance writer who happen to be on the same plane when it crash lands on a lost island. Being the only survivors, well, things do heat up. I had so much fun with these two characters. The story recieved 4 roses from Sensual Reads as well as 4 Lips from Twolips Reviews.

Flames of Fate also released in August from Whispers Publishing. It is about a cold case detective names Crystal who is asigned to work on a ten year missing persons case. The victim is believed to be dead, but Crystal can't shake the feeling that things are not what they seem.

Nicholas, the missing person in question, is shocked to realize he has been in a state of limbo for ten years. All he remembers is the pain of a bullet to his chest. His only way to communicate with beautiful detective is through flame. Once the shock of it all sinks in, they work together to solve his case.

Now I can't tell you if he is really dead or not. But I can tell you that there is a twist :) The story recieved 5 roses from Sensual Reads, and I can't tell you how thrilled I was with that.

Jan: A well deserved 5 roses, Emery! So tell me, what are you currently working on? Or do you keep your works-in-progress a secret as some authors do?

Emery: I love to chat about my WIP's. If I don't the characters chew me out for not giving them the attention they deserve. LOL. As of now, I am in edits on The Huntress, Book 4 in the Portal Series. It is a series that involves vampires, demons, Greek God's, and lady warriors.

I also am in the process of a long planned contemporary western, Southern Hospitality, and it involves four men and their leading ladies. It will really be like a series all rolled into one book.

Of course I have several suspense waiting to be done as well. I tend to have about 3-4 stories going at a time. That's not counting the several dozen files waiting for me to pull and start. I get an idea for a book, and I start a file on it. It has grown, but I look forward to each one and the adventure I will take when working on them.

Jan: Do you have any releases coming soon? If so, what have you got coming for us?

Emery: My next release is 'The Richest Gift”. My twist on a fairy love story. It is set for November 2nd, also from Whispers Publishing. The Huntress is in progress as well. (Portal Series, book 4). A Touch of Taboo is in edits, as well as Let's Talk About Sex 2: Trudy's Story. All from Forbidden Publications. Jan: You are a busy woman! What challenges you the most in life?

Emery: I am a single mom of two great kids. A boy 10 and a girl 8. They are my greatest challenge, exspecially when school is out and mom is on a roll at the computer. But I wouldn't have it any other way. They keep it real for me, and interesting to say the least.

Jan: If I had the chance I would love to live in a cozy log cabin with rock fireplaces in every room. The cabin would be set in the middle of a hundred solitary acres somewhere in the foothills of Alberta’s Canadian Rocky Mountains. How about you? Where would you like to live?

Emery: If I could make a wish and live in one place, it would be Scotland. The beauty and the history of the land draws me in. I have so many research books and reference material on Scotland. I love the folklore and the fairy tales. I would want my home dead center of the greenest field, and when I open my door all I would see is land and endless sky.

Then again, I could live in a shoe as long as I was happy and doing what I love. My kids wrinkle their nose everytime I say that to them. LOL.

Jan: LOL. When and where are you the happiest?

Emery: My happiest moments is when the sun goes down, and I set everything aside, crawl into the middle of my bed with my two kids and watch a movie. Eating junk food and laughing, or hiding our eyes at a scary moment, that is when I am at my happiest. They are my greatest joy, and my greatest reward.

Jan: I wish I could play the guitar and fly – not necessarily at the same time. Which talents do you wish you had?

Emery: I wish I could play ANY instrument. It seems everyone in my family has musical talent except me. The fiddle would be my choice. I also wish I could paint or draw. I have a great love for art.

Jan: You make up for your lack of musical talent with your excellent stories, Emery. :-)

What makes you feel safe and secure?

Emery: Again, I would have to say my children and the love and support of my friends and family. Being a single mom, I try to meet the day with the determination to make it a good one. It get's hard, but with my family and friends, I feel like I can face anything.

Jan: Emery, what turns you off? What turns you on?

Emery: LOL...that's a loaded question ! But I will play it safe and say a big turn off for me is just plain and simple rude behavior. (In my day to day life and personal life) I can't tolerate rude behavior. Bad manners is also a big thing for me.
My turn on's would be good conversation and being around people with the ability to make me laugh. Now I said I was playing it safe!

Jan: What’s your favorite cuss word? I’d tell you mine but I’m not allowed to swear.

Emery: LOL....I have tried to clean up my language. Since my kids grew to an age of repeat what mommy says. Now, my favorite word is DAG NABBIT. No, im not sure why but it sounds alot better around the kids. I also tend to say HEAVENS TO BETSY, but stopped when my daughter asked who Betsy was, and I had no answer.

Recently I’ve started to interview erotic romance authors that have dropped by to visit me and of course to check out my new work in progress loft. *grin*

So I’ve decided to take advantage of all my buddies during their visits by interviewing them and posting their interviews under a new series heading - In the Author's Loft. I hope you enjoy them.

Interview with Guest Author RED GARNIER

Intro: I’m so proud to introduce to you RED GARNIER. Red writes sexy hot erotic romances for several publishers. Her favorite color is red and she’s a lover of love, laughter and hot steamy sex. She lives with her husband and is a proud mother of two. Recently Red dropped by to visit and we chatted about her books and her private life while we nibbled on chocolate chip cookies and painted the loft’s very steep ceiling.

Jan: Red! I’m so excited to have you here. I’ve heard Ellora’s Cave and Loose ID have published your books. Can you tell me a bit about these sexy releases?

Red: Jan, thanks so much for having me, it’s a real honor! Yes, I’m published both with Ellora’s Cave and Loose ID. I write contemporaries, paranormal, lately even fantasy. Though whatever the genre, you can be sure my books are steamy, sexy reads with a dash of funny and I truly hope people will continue to enjoy them.

Jan: I love your website! http://www.redgarnier.com/ The red cherries and red lips are mouth wateringly delicious. I also noticed you’ve got some upcoming hot releases. What scrumptious details can you tell us about them?

Red: Upcoming in November, watch out for Spin Some More, my fifth EC release. Spin Some More is so fun and so very hot I blush when I think about it. It’s Exotika, the third in The Devilish Games series, and I can’t wait to hear what readers think of it. And for December I have The Sheeman out with Loose ID, a very romantic fantasy erotica that never fails to make my heart go aflutter.

Jan: Your books sound great. I can’t wait to read them. And now how about some personal questions I’m sure the readers would love to know. What is your most treasured possession?

Red: I’d hate to sound boring but I’ll just have to say my laptop. I simply can’t live without it. When I don’t have that creative outlet, my thoughts start driving me insane and I get real cranky. ;)

Jan: Not boring at all, Red. I sure can relate to what you experience. Around my place I’m known for being downright nasty when I can’t get my writing time.

Jan: Red, what do you consider your greatest achievement?

Red: I’m a happy wife and mother, and I have a very satisfying—more like completely out of this world—career, doing what I love most. I feel truly blessed, Jan.

Jan: A Dairy Queen sundae dripping with hot fudge gives me the most satisfaction in life.
What gives you the most satisfaction?

Red: Ooh, I have to say, sugar just makes me happy. All kinds of sugar. Chocolate. Cakes. Cookies. Ice Cream. That sundae you mention sounds absolutely divine.

Jan: lol Then I’m glad I made you eat these chocolate chip cookies. You know, my greatest fear is being trapped in a roaring fire (without my cookies). What’s yours?

Red: I’m such a scaredy cat I don’t even know where to begin. Fires. Storms. Drowning. Accidents. Sharks. Monsters under the bed. You name it, it scares the beejezus out of me.

Jan: Do you have any current works-in-progress? Can you give us a sneak peak?

Red: I just finished and turned in Seven Sinners to my Ellora’s Cave editor. This is an Exotika about seven hot, hot, hot vampires in a wild night of sex and sin. Now onto the next project. It’s still a bit fuzzy in my head but I’m thinking I’d definitely like to tackle a bit of BDSM . . .

Jan: Count me in on the seven hot, hot, hot vampires! Wooohooo! Sounds fantastic!

Jan: It was a cold February Sunday morning in 2000 when I got an email accepting my very first book for electronic publication. For days I walked around in a daze of disbelief…it still hasn’t sunk in that I am a published author. What were you doing when you got The First Call? What book was it? How did you react? And has it sunk in that you are published?

Red: That was such an amazing moment I get jitters just remembering. It was Christmas 2006, just days before New Year’s Eve. I was vacationing with my family and trying to squeeze in a bit of writing time while they slept. Near midnight, I get an email from my now EC editor, saying she loved Spin Devil and wanted to publish it.

Not only that but weeks before, I’d already sent the sequel, Spin it Again, and she wanted to buy it too. I squealed and of course immediately emailed her saying YES! I woke up my hubby and squealed to the top of my lungs and let him squeeze me tight, and for hours afterward I couldn’t sleep. It all still feels like a dream to me. To spend my days doing what I love, get reviews, fan mail . . . yep. I’m dreaming. Please pinch me! ;)

Jan: lol no, I won’t pinch you Red. I don’t want you smacking me and waking me from my dream. I don’t want this excitement to ever end! Tell me, sweet stuff, what are you excessive about?

Red: Books, chocolate and sex. Not necessarily in that order. ;)

Jan: When a writer asks me for advice I usually tell them to keep writing because you haven’t failed until you quit. What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Red: Definitely, keep writing, keep reading—because reading is a bonfire of inspiration and knowledge for a writer. And don’t compare yourself to others. This always makes you feel lacking in some way because you’re not the same person. Remember no one writes like you do. You’re unique. Let your voice come out, don’t lose it trying to mimic others, and write, write, write.

Loft Update:

The loft is scheduled to be mostly completed by the end of August. *jan screaming yes and punching the air*

I don't have any updated pics yet but I will upload them asap. Inside we opted for a cathedral type ceiling...the garage floor went yesterday, the roof is autumn brown shingles - looks very nice but they ran out of shingles and so I have a bit of a bare patch up there...she's going bald!

We are waiting on the sidings which is gonna cost big bucks extra. But it's going to be maize yellow vinyl like the sides of my house. The stairs are going in next week and hopefully the insulation too. Once I get a couple of baseboard heaters I'll be writing from my new digs.

Oh and I changed the name from Loft in the Pines to Hearts and Quilts Loft!

Work on Tyler's Woman is still going strong. I expanded the storyline MUCH MUCH more. I really wanted to explore the relationship between Laurie and Tyler, Hunter and Blade. So there was lots of work to do. We are sitting at 57,000 words and I still have lots more data entry to do as I do most of my writing long hand (and sometimes with the AlphaSmart).

My dad is walking now - along with the help of our fence in the backyard as the physiotherapist we had gave him lots of strenghening exercises for him to do and then she said to call back when the leg got stronger - When he got the leg moving relatively well after several weeks it turned out she had discharged him! Abandoned us!!...we are waiting to hear when he can be reassesed.

Okay that's all the scoop for now. Hope you all are having a nice summer!

Loft with a View

Here's the updated view from the side of my house of the garage/loft in progress. (above)

From the north side of the loft (above) I'll have a birdseye view of my little house. Squeee!

And from the north window I'll also have view of my garden shed. :-)

The south window will be of the forest and glimpses of the deer grazing wetland, the east side will be of pine trees and the highway and the west side (which will be my office window) will view my vegetable and flower gardens as well as the forest!

I can't wait for them to finish!!! Wooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooo!

I've heard from a source my garage/loft is going up really fast. Gonna pop up this weekend to take a look and take some updated pics. I have some pics from last week but I can't seem to upload them to the blog...grrrr...so when I figure out what's wrong I can upload.

TYLER’S WOMAN – OUTLAW LOVERS 4

Tyler’s Woman – Outlaw Lovers 4 is popping over the 50,000 word mark and going strong once again. There were a bunch of cuts to the story and now it is happily back on track. *jan wiping sweat from her brow*

As of now TW centers around Laurie, Tyler and Hunter.

Laurie is a member of The Resistance, an underground movement against the notorious Claiming Law that allows several men to claim a woman against her will.
We briefly met Laurie at the beginning of “The Claiming” –Outlaw Lovers 2 as well as near the end of Colter’s Revenge – Outlaw Lovers 3.

Tyler is the youngest Outlaw brother who spent nearly five years in a terrorist prison with another man as his cell mate - Hunter. There will be a graphic relationship between Tyler and Hunter.*wink* *wink* Tyler is out of prison and he's coming home for Laurie...

Blade, who we met briefly in Colter’s Revenge will also be returning…Tyler’s Woman is a ménage e trois. Target: Ellora’s Cave.

RED LINE

In my spare time away from Tyler’s Woman, I’ve started another little fun story titled RED LINE. It’ll be an erotica with little romance. I plan to target Ellora’s Cave once the story is completed.

Family Update

My dad is in a rehab clinic where the physiotherapists are working with him. He can stand now with help but it appears his balance has been wiped due to the stroke. It looks as if a wheelchair will be his main means of mobility. We were expecting the arrival of his new chair today.

Writer Retreat Update

My parents may move in sometime in the future so I’ve gone ahead and ordered a garage with a loft. When the move happens I’ll be able to walk across the driveway to write in my new loft retreat. *grin*

I'm Diggin' In!

Get your vegetable gardens in!!! Winter is coming! Yeeeeps!

I've been busy since yesterday bringing in my loot for the winter *grin*
This morning I woke up to frost all over the place - I thought I had lost my cabbage but alas it survived *jan wiping sweat from her brow*

Here's my loot at last count:

3 baskets of turnips
2 baskets of carrots
1 basket of beets
1 basket of onions
5 red cabbages
5 white cabbages
6 zuchini

The tomatoes are already canned...I had a good basket of them. The beans are gone - eaten as they ripened on the vine - they didn't do too good this year.
All the loot is now stored in my shed.

Man on man I am wiped! My back is killing me and I just polished off a huge dish of Kawartha Dairy Bar Orange and Pineapple Ice-cream. It was delicious!

Last night I transplanted my rosemary bush - the freaking thing is HUGE!!! So I potted it brought it inside and this morning I found my cat scratching in the dirt ready to use it as his litterbox!!! I was not amused. lol.

Alas I'm heading back outside now to collect the seeds off my cosmos flowers so I will have plenty for next year...

I popped over to Zellers the other day and picked up some paperbacks...the one I am currently reading is called THE DOMINO EFFECT by Julie Elizabeth Leto.

It is an "extreme" Blaze.

This book is quite different from some of the regular Harlequin Blazes I've read so far. And I love the caption at the bottom of the cover..."she blows men away..." lol

The Perfect Storm - Nekkid Men Tour continues!

My apologies to everyone for missing my MEA Blog Day Friday and the subsequent chats with Sensual Reads and Pink Posse...but I have a good reason...

I've always wanted to experience the "Perfect Storm"...and looks like I finally got my wish this past Wednesday night.

The storm hit like with a vengence and with little warning. Huge downpours whipped through cottage country. Wild winds downed thousands of trees and there were wicked forks of silver lightning that I could actually hear sizzling around the house even with the windows closed!!!

I have never been so scared in my life. Words cannot even describe it, so I won't describe it. All I can say is it was BAD!

I ended up without power for 4 days and without a phone for most of a day...even the cell phone was acting stupid. Had to throw all the perishable foods away too. My dad dropped in with supplies and we had a good old time cooking by campstove and sitting outside on the deck by candlelight to watch the bats fly around at night for entertainment. *grin*

I also lost a few trees on my property (log cabin time) and my parents lost several at their cottage too. I have never seen such devastation as I drove along the roads. There were hydro trucks all over the place. Wires down and long lineups for ice at the stores and gas station as folks tried to save their food and got gas for their generators.

The perfect storm ushered in cooler weather and it's been fantastic weather since then.

I admire Ashley and her protective instincts as well as her ability to forgive what she thought was a wrong dealt to her by her lover.

Colter’s Revenge is the much-anticipated continuation of some of my favorite brothers. I have to say that I was not disappointed in the least. Ms. Springer continued the tale of these fine brothers in a way that caught my attention and kept me on the seat the entire time. There is just one problem. I now have to wait for Tyler’s story and I want it NOW!

Computer Nightmare!

Well it finally happened! My puter has gone belly up!!

I'm crossing my fingers it's just my mouse that died...but if it isn't it means I have a virus...which I think might be the case. *jan sobbing hysterically* because everything froze when I was on the Net...Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Currently I'm posting from my old unreliable clunker - the screen just died on it too so I had to attach the screen from my new one to my old computer. Ohhhh lordy lordy!!! What is gonna happen next? They say things come in threes - the washing machine leaks, the fridge leaks and now my puter...and they are new!!!! OMG!!

Anyhows if you don't hear from me in a bit you'll know the old clunker went clunk too. LOL.

Going to head into the big city to see if I can't get a new screen and mouse...cross your fingers the mouse is the problem....

Elvis is alive in Canada!

Wooohooo I took my parents to Sunset Beach Resort in Buckhorn, Ontario, cottage country this weekend to see Elvis impersonator Terry Chisholm! (He's the brother of my chiropractor)

What a cool singer! I felt like I was actually seeing and hearing the real Elvis himself.

When it came time for pics with the big guy, my camera's flash wouldn't work!!! Grrr! Ohhh the horrors!

He sang lots of Elvis' greats like Jail House Rock and Love Me Tender...and he also did some Roy Orbison impersonations and sang Pretty Woman which made the audience go wild! LOL It was fun! There were alot of older people there reliving the past I'm sure. There were even young kids peeking in through the windows probably wondering who this interesting looking character was. LOL

Updates ZERO TO SEXY, SINDERELLA & TYLER'S WOMAN

Just got word that ZERO TO SEXY will be released on August 30 of this year! *high five*

And SINDERELLA is coming next Wednesday - June the 28th. I can hardly wait!!!

Wanted to share the news that I've currently just passed the 30,000 word hump for TYLER'S WOMAN...okay this one is going to be a bit different from the other Outlaw Lovers stories...we've got Tyler who has been in a terrorist's prison for around 5 years...and he's been made to do some really bad stuff. He's got a lot of anger pent up and a lot of hot burning love to give the woman he hasn't seen in five years...

He's a changed man, but he is coming home for Laura...he's also bringing home a surprise...I gave a hint of what that surprise could be at the end of Colter's Revenge *wink* * wink* I can't give away any more details as I don't want to spoil it...

And remember in Jude Outlaw we heard that the Barlows had claimed a woman? A woman who had volunteered for the position of being a wife to four evil men? That was Laura...and you are going to have to bet she didn't volunteer just for the hell of it *grin*

Blade - I've decided I'll give him his own story...but he's in this one too...he's replaced the Barlow brother as the fourth husband to Laurie - but he's got his own reasons for taking on the job - I'll be shocking you with this guy. Blade is so hot! I want him!

When Tyler comes home he is going to throw a mighty big wrench into everyone's well laid plans. *evil chuckle*

Okay I'm getting back to work on Tyler now...I'm crossing my fingers this searing story will be done in a couple, maybe three weeks - four at the latest.

Update on Days! Jack crashed the wedding!

Helllllllllllo! Lordy lordy. Aren't Steve and Kayla the cutest couple? ;-)

For anyone who cares...here's the update! Terminally ill Jack crashed his wife's wedding to Frankie on Days! Poor Jen and Frankie! And Steve who has amnesia met up with Kayla who fainted...I mean wouldn't you, if your hubby who you thought was dead for like 16 years showed up at your friend's wedding alive but with amnesia?

And wouldn't you give dearly returned husband a big kiss just to see if he remembered you? Well that's what Kayla did after a very quick recuperation...but poor Steve still doesn't know her...however he did look a little funny when he met up with Beau - his once old enemy turned best friend...

Anyhows Jen and Frankie took Jack back home and now he's nestled in the bedroom waiting to die. He told Jen he was afraid of dying. Really afraid. But knowing that she was now married to Frankie made it a bit better...(bigamist?) Gosh! Was that ever sad! I was in tears! *jan sobbing*

And Hope fainted at the wedding...is she pregnant with Patrick's child? And here I thought she was going to go back to her husband Beau. LOL. Shock me baby!

Anyways enough of the soaps. Gotta quit it cold turkey! Or I'll be hooked for another twenty-five years...wait a minute!!! Didn't I say I was going to quit cold turkey, twenty-five or so years ago when Hope and Beau got married? *wink*

Steve and Kayla...and Jack return to Days?

Wow! I just had to share this in case some old Days of Our Lives fans happen by...

What's happening on Days of Our Lives? Have you checked it out lately?

Last week I turned it on and came face to face with Steve Patch Johnson and Jack Deveraux. Two men of Days who are supposed to be like totally DEAD!!! Wooooooooohoooo! But they appear to be back and as sexy as sin.

Older Days fans will remember how Kayla and Steve scorched up the screen with those hot love scenes on the roof of their apartment...and that nice wintry cabin scene where they married each other...and what about the time Steve got knifed and Kayla, being the sweet nurse that she is, tended to him and they fell in love. Oh yeah baby! Those were THE days!

Of course Kayla is back too. Pretty as ever. All these years she's been away from Salem, not wanting to return because of all those memories she has with her and Steve in that town. This time around she's a doctor and Steve is a hospice nurse... a far different fellow than the snappy dangerous man who tried like hell to deny his love for Kayla...or is he so different? Hmmm.

Now Kayla's come back for Jennifer's wedding to Frankie! High school sweethearts...FINALLY getting married!

And now I discover that not only is Jennifer's dead husband, Jack, is alive (but barely) but he's coming home to Salem with Kayla's dead husband (his brother) Steve Patch Johnson!

And damned if Steve doesn't happen to have AMNESIA!!! You all must know how much I love amnesia stories!!! John Black had amnesia too. Loved that story line too.

Fans of Days will remember that when Steve died all those years ago, Kayla put a yellow rose on his coffin before she left for his funeral...that coffin was switched!!! I kid you not. And so all these years we waited to find out what happened to Steve. Oh the horrors! The wait is over! I hope.

Will Jack and Steve crash Jennifer and Frankie's wedding? Or will Jack -who just happens to be terminally ill and faked his own death - stay dead and allow his wife to find some sort of happiness with her high school sweetheart?

Holy man! Do I wish I could write this stuff!!! Days of Our Lives, if you guys read this, hire me will you? I can write you some hot scenes for Steve and Kayla that will keep those two burning up the sheets like forever. LOL

Well if you read this far, then you are a die hard Days fan. Does anyone know how long Steve and Kayla will be back? Anyone know about Jack? Will he die in his wife's arms after she marries Frankie? Or will the writers find him a cure? Hmm, inquiring minds would love to know. And I wanna know what's happening!!!

How's everyone's gardens doing? Are they sprouting up nice and green?

My potatoes are overflowing but still no flowers on the plants...my beets are struggling though.
Anyone have any rabbits nibbling on your lettuce yet? LOL

I just finished putting up a big chicken wire around most of my garden to hopefully keep the bears out! They have a bad habit of stamping through the garden. Grrrrr.

Some evil cat also demolished my batch of cat nip...okay so it could have been one of my evil cats...just bought some more to replace the ones they destroyed.

Also just picked up a bunch of cosmos and petunia flower plants - they were on sale - oh lordy lordy I don't have any more room for flowers - but I'll make room. *grin*

Ohhhhhhhhhhh and the strawberries are coming out soon...*jan drooling*

Vampire & Wolf Erotic Romance -Now this book is HOT!

While I wait for my new ebook reader to arrive I've started reading some Ellora's Cave paperbacks that I got a little while ago.

Currently I'm reading Shiloh Walker's The Hunters - The Beginning.
I've never been too fond of vampire stories but this girl has changed my mind!!
Sweet mercy I AM HOOKED!!!

Wowsa! Talk about fast paced and lots of action, romance and of course yummy sex and even a menage e trios. Shiloh does an excellent job at explaining what vampires and wolf's exactly are and she explains lots of neat things about them. Very nice start for any newbie who hasn't read vampire and wolf stuff and of course a great read for vampire erotic romance lovers.

The paperback edition has two books in it. I've just about finished The Hunters: Declan and Tori and will start The Hunters: Eli and Sarel right after.

Has anyone else read this book? Do you have any comments you'd like to share? :-)

Anyhows I am now a Shiloh Walker fan!!!

Ahhh geez! *jan grinning from ear to ear* I just got another great 4.5 review for Colter's Revenge. :-) This one's from Euro Reviews and it's got me all blushing like a virgin bride...hey! Virgin Bride - sounds like a title for a hot book...

Hey! I've got half my vegetable garden in. Anyone putting one in this year? What are you planting? I've got some space left and don't know what else to plant??? *jan in despair*

So far I've got potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, lettuce, carrots, onions, basil, rosemary, turnips, beets, dill and pole beans...I know I am missing something but can't for the life of me think of what else I should plant.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Santana has a past that doesn't allow him to dream of the future, but Amy will soon have him realizing that love will conquer all problems. Zero to Sexy has a m/m scene, a menage and an interracial romance.

Fun in the Sun Quickie series – Releasing in June 2006, so if you
are participating in this, you should have the story turned in
already, right?

Autumn Animalia Quickie series – Releasing September 2006. Theme is
shapeshifters or a strong animal character in the story. Stories
must be to your editor for review/acceptance by end of June at the
latest, all editing done and final ms turned in by early August.

Wild Winter Quickie series. Releases December 2006. Theme is winter
holidays. Stories to your editor by end of September, editing
complete by early November.

New erotica line at EC (name tbd): We hope to launch in late 2006,
and are accepting submissions now. This will be a line of erotica,
not erotic romance. Basically the same sexuality level as E-rated EC
stories, the same taboos. But it doesn't have to be a "romance" –
doesn't need commitment or an HEA – although it certainly can have
romantic elements. The focus is on the sexual relationship instead
of the romantic one. Stories can be 10K to 100K.

New Traditional Regency line at Cerridwen (name tbd): Standard sweet
Traditional Regencies. Story length 50-75K. Historical accuracy is
very important. Only new stories, not reprints. Taking submissions
now. Particularly interested in authors previously published in this
genre. Planning to launch in late 2006.
NOTE: We already accept Regency-set Historicals at Cerridwen, and
erotic Regencies at EC.

2007 Tarot theme stories: Stories can be any EC length or genre.
Must specify a Tarot card that is the "theme" of the story. For
existing EC authors, submit to your editor a detailed full-story
synopsis and 8-10K words. Outside submissions must be full
manuscript.

2007 Ellora's Cavemen anthology series: Submissions close Sept. 30;
selections will be made by Dec. 31. Any genre, 10-12K, preferably E

My tiny house is only ten feet away from this gorgeous stream and when I awoke in the middle of the night to the roar of running water ripping through my open window I had the feeling I was in trouble. And sure enough as I checked my sump well in the basement THE WATER WAS RISING a half an inch every half an hour!!!! OMG!! And I had no sump pump! Aiiiiiii.

On pins and needles all night I waited and watched the water rise and then in the morning I placed a call into my builder who was so kind0 to take pity on this pioneer woman and sent over a fellow right away to put in a sump pump...nice fellow Hi Rob! Anyways a flooded basement was narrowly averted.

And then it started to rain...and I had to dig a ditch around my house to keep the water from flooding my front and backyards...and my basement yet again.

And then when I tried to get my car out of the quickly flooding driveway the little car GOT STUCK!!! It took me over an hour to get out of the mud...Have mercy!!! I need a shot of whiskey and will place a call in for loads and loads of much needed gravel to fortify my writer's nest.

Anyone else just have "one of those days"??? Please share cause I'd love to hear it!! Misery loves company. LOL.

On my way to the dump I saw three gorgeous deers...two huge turkeys running across the road and when I got to the dump...HELLLLLLO HANDSOME!!
Here's a pic - he looks similiar to this guy...(he was even wearing a similiar hat - unfortunately it was too cold for him to take off that shirt but I'm sure I could warm him up!) *jan gushing*

So he's a young kind of shy hunk but who cares!!! Anyways I'm sure I will be eager to head back that way come next week. *wink*
