I've moved!!! What a story!!!

And what a move it was!!!

We had rented a UHaul truck and had the baby all packed up...come Monday morning there was a windchill of minus 20 celcius and we couldn't unlock the truck!!! I kid you not! The locks had frozen!!!

I tried the "heat up the key" with a match - didn't work. Tried smashing my fist on the locks - didn't work. Tried the lock de-icer - didn't work. And then here comes good old dad with the BLOW TORCH!!! LMHO. It worked!!! - hmmmm I didn't see any paint bubbling near the locks...shhhhh

I drove the truck with my mom beside me and my dad came up the rear with the car...the moving guy??? I left him at home fast asleep on the couch - tough night for him I guess

Anyways we ran smack dab into one mother of a BLIZZARD. I was so nervous. A two hour drive turned into a four hour white knuckle drive. I know, I know, we should have turned back...but my dad insisted I not pay another $300+ to extend the UHaul...besides, he says, I haven't seen any cars in the ditch!! Interesting philosophy.

So we plowed on through those big swirley snowflakes with a pit stop at Tim Horton's in Lindsay. Damned good coffee!!!

Ha! When we got to my driveway the snowplow had conveniently plowed the road...so there was this big embankment...do I stop???? Nooooooooooo. Not this chickie. I slammed that baby UHaul right into the embankment and promptly got stuck!!! Have mercy!!

Thank God I packed a couple of shovels in the UHaul. So out they come and we start digging. A little while later the wheels are free and into my driveway I go...anyways it took us the rest of the day to unpack...and things just got worse - telephone troubles, lost my cell phone, no Internet for over two weeks, the furnace in the house is way too loud...but who wants to sleep when there is the most gorgeous sparkling stars up there! Absolutely fantastic scenery - snowcapped pine trees, the land covered in pristine white and it is sooooooooo quiet.

Well I must get back to work! Just wanted to let you know I'm BACK!!!

Hugs,

jan who will post pics of her new place when she has her 3 rolls of film developed!!!

Jan, I have a very clear picture in my mind of you, white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel, little foot jamming the gas pedal to the floor as you try to plow through a big pile of snow without benefit of a plow. *g*

Glad you finally made it to your new place!

Hey Sherrill,

That's exactly the pic. LOL. When I saw that snowbank between me and my house I just panicked and hit the gas. *shaking my head*
I'm so glad I'm here!!!

Hey Jennie!

Yes I drove through Lindsay...my most favorite place is the Wendy's on that strip near 35. Yummmy!

Unfortunately that particular day my guts were so twisted with anxiety I could only drink coffee...and a blueberry bagel- toasted with regular cream cheese of course. *grin*

If I knew where you lived I would have honked my horn and waved *jan waving now*

Charli!

Some nights the stars shine so bright I think I could just reach up and pick one. Very pretty.
And very happy the adventure nightmare is over...gonna have to throw some of that stuff into a book eh? LOL
